COD cheat update times

Every provider says its updates are fast. A few say how fast. We time them: from the moment a Call of Duty update goes live to the moment each provider’s build works again.

The stopwatch

Measured gaps only. A promise never enters this table, however specific it is.

Nothing timed yet Evidence: Unknown

The table fills in from the next big Call of Duty patch. Until then, fastest, average and slowest are blank rather than guessed, and nobody is “fastest” for having the most confident marketing.

The promises

In their words, labelled as claims. They’re what the stopwatch will be held against.

Advance

  • Evidence: Provider claim Updates

Advance promises constant updates and says its team stays up to date with the latest game updates.

“Our team is dedicated to staying up-to-date with the latest updates.”

How we’d check it: Time the gap from each game update to a working build, over several updates.

NexUp

  • Evidence: Provider claim Updates

NexUp says its updates are speedy and its downtime short.

“We hate downtimes as much as you do, so we keep them as short as”

How we’d check it: Time the gap from each game update to a working build, over several updates.

SoftStack

  • Evidence: Provider claim Updates

SoftStack says updates typically take between 1 and 6 hours, depending on how big the game or anti-cheat change is.

“Updates typically take between 1hour to 6hours, depending on the size of the changes made in the game or anticheat systems.”

How we’d check it: Time it across several game updates: from the patch going live to the build working again.

No update promise in the material we hold for Crooked Arms or ProofCore.

How we time it

From public information and our own licences. We never touch a provider’s systems to get a number.

  1. 1

    The game update goes live

Timed from the publisher’s own patch notes and the launcher, to the minute where they give one.

  2. 2

    The provider announces it

From the provider’s public status page or announcement channel, if it says anything at all. Silence is recorded too.

  3. 3

    The build works again

From the provider’s public status, and confirmed by running it ourselves once we hold a licence. A confirmed time carries the “independently tested” label.

  4. 4

    The gap is the number

Game update to working build, in hours and minutes. One update proves little, so the ranking waits for several.
