Features
11 terms
- Aimbot
-
Software that moves your aim onto a target while you hold its key. Which player it picks, where on them it aims and how fast it gets there are all settings.
COD aimbot: how it works See also Aim assist, FOV (aimbot), Smoothing, Triggerbot
- Aim assist
-
Help built into Call of Duty for controller players: it slows or nudges your aim near a target. It is part of the game, not third-party software, and it is not an aimbot.
Aimbot and aim assist compared See also Aimbot
- Triggerbot
-
Software that fires for you the moment your crosshair is on a target. It never moves your aim: you, or the aimbot, still put the crosshair there.
COD triggerbot: when it fires See also Aimbot, Visibility check
- ESP also extra-sensory perception
-
Markers drawn on the players near you, including the ones behind walls: a box or a skeleton, their distance and a line pointing to them.
COD ESP: what it shows See also Wallhack, Snaplines, Skeleton ESP, 3D radar
- Wallhack
-
The older name for seeing players through walls. Cheat software now calls it ESP, which usually shows more than an outline.
Why the ESP page covers wallhacks See also ESP
- Snaplines
-
Lines drawn from your screen to each player ESP marks, so you can find them without scanning the whole screen.
Every ESP feature See also ESP
- Skeleton ESP
-
ESP that draws each player’s skeleton instead of a box, which shows their stance and which way they are facing.
Every ESP feature See also ESP
- 3D radar
-
Labels drawn in the game world around you: each player’s name, weapon and distance, plus the live grenades near you.
COD radar hack: 2D and 3D See also 2D radar, ESP
- 2D radar
-
An overhead radar drawn in the game that shows the players and grenades around you in every direction, all the time, rather than only while a UAV is up.
COD radar hack: 2D and 3D See also UAV, 3D radar
- UAV
-
In Call of Duty, a short-lived reconnaissance drone you earn or buy during a match. While it is up, enemy positions show on your minimap.
- External cheat
-
Software that runs as its own program alongside the game, instead of inside the game’s process. Where a cheat runs does not decide whether it can be detected.
Aim settings
9 terms
- FOV (aimbot)
-
The circle around your crosshair inside which an aimbot looks for targets. A small FOV only acts on players near where you already aim; a large one reaches across the screen.
How the aimbot’s FOV works See also FOV (game setting), Aimbot
- FOV (game setting) also field of view
-
How much of the world Call of Duty shows on screen, set in the game’s own settings. It has nothing to do with an aimbot’s FOV. A wider field of view fits more in, so everything looks smaller and crosses the screen faster.
Why field of view changes how aim feels See also FOV (aimbot), cm/360
- Smoothing
-
How quickly an aimbot moves your aim onto a target. Heavy smoothing pulls slowly and steadily; light smoothing gets there fast.
Aimbot movement settings See also Aimbot, Humanised aim
- Humanised aim
-
An aimbot setting that softens the switch from one target to the next, so the movement looks less mechanical.
Aimbot movement settings See also Smoothing
- Bone selection also nearest bone
-
The point on a player an aimbot aims for, such as the head or the chest. Nearest bone picks whichever part is closest to your crosshair, which helps when only part of a player shows.
Where the aimbot aims See also Aimbot
- Prediction
-
An aimbot setting that leads a moving target, aiming where the player is going rather than where they were.
- Target priority also CC ThreatSense
-
How an aimbot chooses between several players in its FOV. CC ThreatSense, the CODCheats version, ranks them by visibility, distance and threat instead of taking the nearest.
How the aimbot picks a target See also FOV (aimbot), Visibility check
- Visibility check
-
A setting that tells players you can see apart from players behind cover. On an aimbot or triggerbot it limits them to visible targets; on ESP it shows who is exposed.
Aimbot and triggerbot settings See also Target priority, Triggerbot
- Profile
-
A saved set of settings. Keep one per mode, Battle Royale and Resurgence for example, and switch between them with a hotkey.
A Battle Royale and a Resurgence profile See also Battle Royale, Resurgence
Anti-cheat and accounts
7 terms
- RICOCHET Anti-Cheat
-
Activision’s anti-cheat for Call of Duty, announced in October 2021: server-side checks on match data, a team that investigates, and on PC a kernel-level driver.
What RICOCHET is and what it means for your account See also Kernel-level driver, Shadowban, TPM 2.0
- Kernel-level driver
-
Software that runs with the same depth of access to Windows as a hardware driver. RICOCHET’s PC driver is one; Activision says it starts with the game and shuts down when you close it.
- TPM 2.0 also Trusted Platform Module
-
A security processor built into most modern PCs, as a chip or as part of the processor’s firmware. Activision requires it for Black Ops 7, Warzone and Modern Warfare 4 on PC.
- Secure Boot
-
A UEFI firmware setting that only lets trusted, signed software start your PC. Activision requires it, with TPM 2.0, for Black Ops 7, Warzone and Modern Warfare 4 on PC.
- Shadowban also Limited Matchmaking
-
Players’ name for Limited Matchmaking: an account under review keeps playing online, but only against other accounts in the same state, until it is cleared or suspended.
What Limited Matchmaking means for your account See also Ban, RICOCHET Anti-Cheat
- Ban
-
Activision suspends or permanently bans accounts that use third-party software in Call of Duty. Any account that does can be banned, and no seller can promise otherwise.
Can my account be banned? See also Shadowban, “Undetected”
- “Undetected”
-
A claim some sellers make about their software. No seller controls the anti-cheat or knows when detection will change, so nobody can stand behind it: treat the word as a warning sign.
How to check a seller before you pay See also Ban
Builds, status and plans
3 terms
- Build
-
CODCheats software for one game. Each game has its own build, with its own features, requirements, status and history.
Every game and its build See also Build status, Call of Duty Total Access
- Build status
-
Whether a build works with the current version of its game: Operational, Updating, Maintenance, Investigating, Offline, Unknown or Coming soon. It says nothing about account safety.
What each status means See also Build
- Call of Duty Total Access also Total Access
-
The one plan CODCheats sells. It covers the build for every included game, for 1 day, 1 week or 1 month.
How plans and prices work See also Build
Sensitivity
4 terms
- cm/360
-
How far your mouse travels, in centimetres, to turn a full 360 degrees in game. Keep it the same and your hipfire aim feels the same from one game to another.
Converting sensitivity between games See also Yaw, DPI
- Yaw
-
The degrees a game turns per mouse count at sensitivity 1. It is fixed by the engine; Call of Duty’s is 0.0066.
Yaw values by game See also cm/360
- DPI
-
How many counts your mouse reports per inch of movement. It is a setting of the mouse, so it is the same in every game.
Sensitivity converter See also cm/360
- Hipfire and ADS
-
Hipfire is shooting without raising your sights; ADS, aim down sights, is shooting through them. Each game sets ADS sensitivity with its own multiplier, so convert hipfire first.
Game modes
3 terms
- Battle Royale
-
Warzone’s main mode: squads drop onto a large map and fight until one is left, with threats from every direction.
Warzone cheats See also Resurgence, Profile
- Resurgence
-
A Warzone mode on a smaller map where you redeploy while a squadmate is still alive, so fights come sooner and closer.
Warzone cheats See also Battle Royale, Profile
- Zombies
-
The co-operative mode in Black Ops games, played against waves of the undead rather than against other players.
